Asyikin  is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam. She is a dedicated researcher in her specialised field of Food Processing Engineering and Functional Food. Throughout the years, she has secured more than RM600,000 in research grants as Principal Investigator and Project Member.

 

She has been actively presenting her research findings in conferences, getting her works published in indexed journals and participating in research innovation. She has also been a committee member and unit leader for several international and national conferences, and an active reviewer for international journals and conference papers. Previously she was a Section Editor and currently appointed as the Managing Copy Editor for Malaysian Journal of Chemical Engineering and Technology (MJCET) published by Penerbit UiTM.

Asyikin has been teaching for more than 16 years in the School of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam. Her areas of expertise are Chemical Process Separation and Food Engineering & Processing. She believes that designing appropriate teaching and learning courses will let students learn in an enjoyable moment with better experience. She has designed a number of online courses (Massive Open Online Course MOOC and Micro-Credential) and implemented flipped classroom approach, blended learning initiative, reflective learning and gamification-incorporated learning to further strengthen her teaching strategies in-line with Education 5.0. She has been awarded the Best e-Learning Award for four consecutive years (2017 - 2020), Best MOOC Award 2019 for her Food Preservation Technology course, and Best Micro-Credential Award 2023 for her Distillation Process course. Her highest achievement was being awarded Anugerah Utama - Kategori Pengajaran in Anugerah Akademik Universiti AAU14  by UiTM.

She leads the Flexible and Blended Learning (Online Learning) strategic project as Project Manager (2019-2021). Currently, she is the Operational Excellence Trainer, and Coordinator of Examination Question Bank System for the school. Previously, she has also been assigned to many positions such as the Chair of the Exam Administration Board, and the Coordinator for several units: Design Project, Research Project and Programme Coordinator for Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering.
